365 Days – Round 2 by Samantha Goode! Day 20 – Sunday 12th April 2015.

It’s a Mixed up Kind of Day

Patonga, NSW, Australia

Upon arriving at the beach this morning, it was blue sky and sunshine. Pretty quickly – within the hour I’d say, these pretty ominous dark clouds started rolling in. The wind picked up and the temperature proceeded to drop – meaning, time to wrap up and go home. Just as we were leaving, out came the sun again. Typical!

 White Horses

Avoca Beach, NSW, Australia

I can’t describe how good it felt today, to be by the ocean – watching the local surfers, watching the extreme power of the waves surge upon the rocks. I just feel like it cleanses me. I know it cleanses me.

Water is the thing that grounds me – honestly, I’m at my happiest when I’m by the ocean, guess that’s why I live walking distance to the beach!
I wasn’t going to share this on here, but, feel I need to explain why I suddenly stopped posting after I completed my first 365 journey. I told you all that I was pregnant, back at the start of 2013. My son is now nearly 2! I’d planned to continue my blog. The reason I took such a big break was due to the fact that
when I was pregnant with him, back in February 2013, I was hit by a 4×4 that didn’t stop at a stop sign and we nearly died – twice (a month after my accident, I suffered a pulmonary embolism). Long story short, my son is perfect, I’m still dealing with medical issues – and PTSD.

completely lost my oomph for my photography. I just didn’t want to, I just couldn’t. I took photos of my son, but not my ‘proper’ photography. Not
the photography that I was once so passionate about taking.

So, you see, this 365 journey – number 2, is a huge turning point for me – in a completely positive direction.

Love & light to you all X

365 Days – Round 2 by Samantha Goode! Day 13 – Sunday 05th April 2015.

Happy Easter!

Norah’s Head, Central Coast, NSW, Australia

For the last couple of days it has rained continuously, but this morning I woke up to beautiful blue sky! We decided to make the most of it!

My little toddler went on his first ever Easter egg hunt – and the bunny was kind enough to leave eggs for him hidden amongst the rocks. He had to be pretty quick to collect them before they melted.

This is a beautiful beach – it’s called Norah’s Head – you have to walk down some steps to get there, but once you’re down  – there’s plenty to explore! Rock pools to wade in and sea shells on the sand, bleached by the sun to collect.

All in all, a beautiful morning!

In Between

The Haven, Terrigal, Central Coast, NSW, Australia

I seem to be drawn to photographing benches at the moment. Perhaps this is going to be a mini series – like my sofa ones during my first 365 project. Have to say, that mini series, was my favourite part of my previous 365 journey.  Will have to see where this goes…

Anyway, this bench overlooks a bay at The Haven, Terrigal, Central Coast, NSW Australia.

Before I had my son and before my accident, my fianc√© and I used to swim here regularly – even during winter months – not in wetsuits, just in bathers. Think I may need to start doing this again – it felt so invigorating.

365 Days – Round 2 by Samantha Goode! Day 9 – Wednesday 01st April 2015.

Room with no Walls

Avoca Beach, Central Coast, NSW, Australia

I love sitting here, well actually, that’s not strictly true…I actually love sitting on a bench near this one, but it was in use…so this one is the next best one…in my humble opinion.
You’ll often find me sitting here, whilst out and about with my little one. I’ve usually got a lovely cup of coffee in hand…and for a little while, we just sit and watch…watch the waves roll in, people watch and more often than not, the local surfers catching waves.

Lucky

Avoca Beach, Central Coast, NSW Australia

I’m so lucky to call this place home. Australia is such a beautiful country with such a stunning coastline – a varied one at that. In my local area, there are calm gentle bays and beautiful long surf beaches, where the waves roll in all day long.

I never ever take it for granted where we live.

Waiting for the Right Moment

I watched this surfer for about 10 minutes as he stood waiting….waiting for the right moment.

This was taken up on the North Coast of NSW, Australia, back in December.

One of My Favourite Places/strong>

Seal Rocks, it’s a place I love and feel so peaceful and at ease with the world whenever I am there.

This shot, was another taken over Christmas. I just sighed out loud as I wrote, because I so wish tht I was there right now.

A Beach That Goes on Forever

20120331-080204.jpg

This shot was taken on the same day that I saw dolphins surfing in the waves….which really isn’t something you see every day.

This was taken over Christmas. If I am honest, I prefer this shot to the dolphin one, but like I said, it’s not something you see every day, so this one had to stay on the back burner. I hope you like this.

Day 366 Thursday 29th March 2012

Let the Fanfare Commence Play- My Last Sunrise (and day of this 365/366 project)

20120329-073908.jpg

Let the fanfare commence play….for today is a monumental day for me, for I have made it to the end of my 365 days project (366 with it being a leap year).

I had a quiet word with Mother Nature this morning, requesting a decent sunrise for my last day…she didn’t let me down.

I think I can say now, with my head held high that I did it! Not one day did I miss, no cheating for me, I actually did it! I am so incredibly proud of this project and I am overwhelmed by the support I have had from people all around the world, people that I didn’t know before I started this project.

This project has had a profound effect on me and on my life, which is why I am going to be doing a second one, starting in a few days time.

Thank you again, to my followers and to all of your comments. I apologise if I didn’t get round to replying to you, but thank you, they mean a lot to me.

Well, I hope you like my final post on this 365. I just took it enroute to work. I am in fact writing this in the car, so this really is hot off the press :-)

Day 365!

Well, firstly, I still have 1 more day, due to the Leap Year, so technically this project was actually about 366 days, not 365 days.

I have so much to say and I guess I will say most of it tomorrow on my final post for this 365 project….however, I will be doing a second 365 project as it is part of me now… this 365 bug! and like I mentioned in a previous post, I hope you will join me on that adventure too! Especially as I will be concentrating much much more on my photography, as I am dedicating 2 days a week to photography, for not only is this project coming to an end this week, but on Friday I will be leaving one of my jobs and I am going to focus more now on what I want in life and what I need to do to make me happy and that is taking photographs. of course, my partner makes me happy, friends, family etc but I want/need to do something for me.

Some good news regarding my second 365, is that I will be travelling to the other side of the world during 2012, so I will get to share this with you!

As I write, this, I am sitting alongside the waters edge, getting bitten to death by ants, as I have been patiently waiting for the sun to go down. I hope my efforts were worth the while!

By the way, it was grey and miserable this morning with lots of rain to go in the is and I was so worried that I wouldn’t have a nice photo to share today, looks like lady luck was on my side!

So, just one more post to go! And one more thing to say on today’s post….today, is my Uncle’s 60th Birthday, so Uncle John…this one is for you.

Day 364 Tuesday 27th March 2012

Reflecting

Just took this photo, I am in the car as I write this enroute to work. My partner kindly stopped for a while, so that I could photograph the sunrise and the reflections on the water.

I feel so alive seeing beauty like this, first thing in the morning, What a nice start to my day! :-)

Day 363 Monday 26th March 2012

Curved Ending

I only have 3 days left (3 days….as I am doing 366 days, due to leap year). Can’t believe that I am almost at the end of this huge journey I have been on. The fact that I have an entire year of my life documented in photographs, is to me, mind boggling and I have to say, that this will be a year of my life that I will never forget! I am not going to get all sentimental now, now is to the time, just that I guess, this photo that I took this evening, reminded me just how close I am to the end, as I thought….on Sunday, the clocks change here in Australia and I won’t get to see the beach late afternoon and that I would need to make the most of it, whilst I still can…..but I won’t need to next week as the project will have come to an end! Which actually feels wrong to me.

This project has become part of me and with saying that, I think I will give myself a few days off at the end and will start again and that is mainly due to all the support and amazing people I have met through my humble little blog…..I will dedicate my last day to you all, but I am not quite there…..just yet! Bu I hope you will support me on 365 part 2?!

Day 362, Sunday 25th March 2012

Grey Skies Looming……Again…

20120325-143931.jpg

Had a relatively quiet day today. went for a very short ride on my scooter to the local beach, where I took this photo. As you can see, rain was threatening, but as I write this, the sun has come out and so far, there has been no actual sign of rain….perhaps this afternoon, it will brighten up.

Day 361 Saturday 24th March 2012

A Day of Tranquility

20120324-174348.jpg

Today has been such a lovely day, as went to a place called The Forest of Tranquility, which is located on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia, where we went for a 5km walk and then had a picnic.

Afterwards, we drove back along the coast and stopped off at a lake which is where I took this photo. Both the water and sky were so blue.

If I hadn’t taken this shot, my other choice for today, would have been a photo that I took of a yellow bird…it was really beautiful. Perhaps I will share with you, after my 365 project comes to an end.

This photo, of the pelicans ties in really with me and my passion of water, of peace and well….tranquility.

Day 360 Friday 23rd March 2012

Calmness

I am rather glad to see the back of this week as it has been such an incredibly long one and I feel mentally exhausted. Looking forward to kayaking at some point during the weekend, especially as the weather is forecast to be as nice as it was today..blue blue blue sky!

I took this shot on my way home, after my daily commute. The days are closing in and soon the clocks will be changing, which will mean even shorter days. I need to make the most of the daylight, even if it is just for a short while, whilst stepping out of the car to take a photograph like this. It’s the best I can do I am afraid! I hope I can take some nice/better photographs over the weekend.

Day 357 Tuesday 20th March 2012

The Things I do for Photography….

After a very long day at work, I saw the most amazing sunset…which really lifted my spirits. I waded in to the middle of a lagoon, with my skirt tucked into my undies, so that I could take this shot….I hope you like it! :-)

2 Skies

It was a beautiful day today. It felt more like Summer than Autumn.

As my day was spent in an office, without having an opportunity to see natural light, when I finally did get an opportunity, I grabbed it with both hands and feet, and boy did the sky have some impressive light to show me, once I had finished my train commute.

This was taken in a place called Gosford, NSW, Australia. Apparently, they are predicting storms tonight and I think they may be right.

Anyway, I hope you like the reflections.
