Bondi Beach is somewhere, even though I lived in Sydney, I didn’t visit all that often….I guess mainly because I lived on the Northern Beaches in Sydney, so didn’t really need to go there, but when ever I did go….it was always a nice change. This shot was taken, when I went to see USA against Australia in a friendly waterpolo match.
A Beach That Goes on Forever
This shot was taken on the same day that I saw dolphins surfing in the waves….which really isn’t something you see every day.
This was taken over Christmas. If I am honest, I prefer this shot to the dolphin one, but like I said, it’s not something you see every day, so this one had to stay on the back burner. I hope you like this.
Just took this photo, I am in the car as I write this enroute to work. My partner kindly stopped for a while, so that I could photograph the sunrise and the reflections on the water.
I feel so alive seeing beauty like this, first thing in the morning, What a nice start to my day! :-)
I only have 3 days left (3 days….as I am doing 366 days, due to leap year). Can’t believe that I am almost at the end of this huge journey I have been on. The fact that I have an entire year of my life documented in photographs, is to me, mind boggling and I have to say, that this will be a year of my life that I will never forget! I am not going to get all sentimental now, now is to the time, just that I guess, this photo that I took this evening, reminded me just how close I am to the end, as I thought….on Sunday, the clocks change here in Australia and I won’t get to see the beach late afternoon and that I would need to make the most of it, whilst I still can…..but I won’t need to next week as the project will have come to an end! Which actually feels wrong to me.
This project has become part of me and with saying that, I think I will give myself a few days off at the end and will start again and that is mainly due to all the support and amazing people I have met through my humble little blog…..I will dedicate my last day to you all, but I am not quite there…..just yet! Bu I hope you will support me on 365 part 2?!
Grey Skies Looming……Again…
Had a relatively quiet day today. went for a very short ride on my scooter to the local beach, where I took this photo. As you can see, rain was threatening, but as I write this, the sun has come out and so far, there has been no actual sign of rain….perhaps this afternoon, it will brighten up.

A Day of Tranquility
Today has been such a lovely day, as went to a place called The Forest of Tranquility, which is located on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia, where we went for a 5km walk and then had a picnic.
Afterwards, we drove back along the coast and stopped off at a lake which is where I took this photo. Both the water and sky were so blue.
If I hadn’t taken this shot, my other choice for today, would have been a photo that I took of a yellow bird…it was really beautiful. Perhaps I will share with you, after my 365 project comes to an end.
This photo, of the pelicans ties in really with me and my passion of water, of peace and well….tranquility.
I am rather glad to see the back of this week as it has been such an incredibly long one and I feel mentally exhausted. Looking forward to kayaking at some point during the weekend, especially as the weather is forecast to be as nice as it was today..blue blue blue sky!
I took this shot on my way home, after my daily commute. The days are closing in and soon the clocks will be changing, which will mean even shorter days. I need to make the most of the daylight, even if it is just for a short while, whilst stepping out of the car to take a photograph like this. It’s the best I can do I am afraid! I hope I can take some nice/better photographs over the weekend.
The Things I do for Photography….
After a very long day at work, I saw the most amazing sunset…which really lifted my spirits. I waded in to the middle of a lagoon, with my skirt tucked into my undies, so that I could take this shot….I hope you like it! :-)

It was a beautiful day today. It felt more like Summer than Autumn.
As my day was spent in an office, without having an opportunity to see natural light, when I finally did get an opportunity, I grabbed it with both hands and feet, and boy did the sky have some impressive light to show me, once I had finished my train commute.
This was taken in a place called Gosford, NSW, Australia. Apparently, they are predicting storms tonight and I think they may be right.
Anyway, I hope you like the reflections.
This morning I woke up at 3am! Yes, you heard me right…3am on a Saturday! Too many things on my mind.
I decided to walk to my local beach to watch the sunrise and it was beautiful.
Avoca Beach is so incredibly beautiful and I must say, I have missed witnessing the sun rise over the ocean.
I was very tempted to put one of the sunrise shots up, but as there weren’t many clouds (not that I’m complaining about that….after all the rain we’ve had of late, a clear blue sky is welcome in my day, any day!), the sunrise wasn’t as atmospheric as I had hoped and I actually rather like this capture, of 3 surfers off for their morning surf. Felt rather envious of them actually.
At the End of the Week
So happy that it is the end of the working week. On our way home, we stopped off at a sports stadium to watch an NRL rugby game. It was an exciting match and our team won.
This photo was taken enroute to the game.

My Perfect End to a Day
I had such a full on day at work today, but thankfully my commute home only took just over an hour, which meant that I was able to get to my local beach, before it got dark.
The waves today were incredible and there was some amazing surfing going on, mostly by little boys who only looked about 8 years old, yet there they were…out there in the big surf, full of confidence and enthusiasm and they showed no fear.
Not only was the water breath taking to look at, but so was their surfing. For the first time today, I felt alive! That is the power the ocean has over me, I really mean that.

A Different World
This photo was taken as the day was coming to an end. The sky was rather surreal….what you see in this photo are layers of different clouds, mostly one massive cloud with a hole in it, where other smaller clouds appeared.
I felt rather insignificant and tiny whilst I looked up at this dramatic sky.
Let the Commute Commence
Today was our first day back at work following our house move. With the first day at work, comes the first commute. This photo was taken whilst my partner was driving, I opened the car window and took this whilst we were actually still moving.
The commute today, took for me 1 hour 1 minute! That’s travelling around 90kms. It is pretty far however, where we used to live, even though the distance was much so much closer approx 30kms, it would take about the same time, if not longer. In actual fact, travelling home, door to door, it would take me 2 hours, that’s including waiting for public transport.
Travelling home today involved me catching 2 trains and a bus and it took 2 hours, but that was mainly due to the bus going round all the local areas, it took forever. I am hoping to get a scooter soon, for me to get to and from the train station. This will make a massive difference to me.
Incidentally, the train journey was so beautiful. I’ll try and take some photographs to share with you, mind…they’ll be through window glass, so they might not be clear, but they’ll give you an idea just how beautiful this train ride is! The Tain passes through forests and right along the shore line and past mangroves.
What a day today has been! So many mixed emotions…from feeling sad to be leaving where we have lived for the past 3 years to moving to my first ever house and a new beginning!
I was hoping and praying that I would be able to see one last sunrise in Manly and this photo is of it. I was able to take this before the removal men arrived (they came at 6:45am). The men were amazing I have to say. Nothing was too much trouble, not once did I here them moan or complain and they were super quick, considering they were being paid an hourly rate.
By 10am, they had finished loading the truck and we said that we would meet them at our new house, as we had to collect the keys for the house from the real estate guy and get the final completion done.
We drove to to Avoca Beach, went into the office, were told by a phone call that the house was indeed ours, then the key was given to us, along with a bucket filled to the brim with goodies from the agent, I then got emotional, gave him a big hug and that was it….I am now a house owner!!
The removal men were there in our garden, lying on the grass waiting for us, we opened up and they moved us in.
Goodbye Manly….hello Avoca Beach
Only a Few Remain
I am very conscious of the fact that I have only a few more days left to watch the sunrise from my apartment, before we move on Thursday. This is something that I am going to massively miss. Time permitting in the mornings, I will hopefully be able to get to my local beach to photograph the sun rising over the ocean, I guess time will tell with routines etc…
For now, I am making the most of what I have got!

The Colour of the Ocean
This morning, more packing was done and then we took the afternoon off, to go to a water polo match and then on our way home, I wanted to get a photo of the ocean, so we stopped off at a place called Freshwater, which is just around the corner from where I live right now. Freshwater is where this photo was taken. I hope you like it.
Long Day Ahead
I have so much going on in my life right now, I don’t know which way to turn… Packing, getting ready to move, first day back today at my 2nd job, more packing tonight…I will be glad when this move is over and I can start to enjoy our new home.
Knowing that I was going to have a busy day, my partner and I stopped here with a takeaway coffee before our work day commenced.
It was so nice to have something beautiful to look at, something to make me feel, umm….good! I’m so tired, I’m hardly sleeping, I’ve lost my appetite (which isn’t a bad thing!!). Sorry for the whine, but if like me you’re having a stressful time at the moment, I hope my photo can bring you a little peace….just imagine yourself here, transport yourself to Australia….just for a while! I am lucky…I know and writing this has just reminded me of how lucky I am, now time to head back to the office and back to work I go!
I ran out of my apartment this morning to watch the sunrise. It dawned on me (pardon the pun) that I’ve only got a week of sunrises to see in Manly. It’s probably going to be one of the greatest things that I am going to miss when we move next week, seeing the ocean from our apartment and seeing sunrises in Manly.
I’ve got to enjoy them whilst I still can!!
