Let the Fanfare Commence Play- My Last Sunrise (and day of this 365/366 project)
Let the fanfare commence play….for today is a monumental day for me, for I have made it to the end of my 365 days project (366 with it being a leap year).
I had a quiet word with Mother Nature this morning, requesting a decent sunrise for my last day…she didn’t let me down.
I think I can say now, with my head held high that I did it! Not one day did I miss, no cheating for me, I actually did it! I am so incredibly proud of this project and I am overwhelmed by the support I have had from people all around the world, people that I didn’t know before I started this project.
This project has had a profound effect on me and on my life, which is why I am going to be doing a second one, starting in a few days time.
Thank you again, to my followers and to all of your comments. I apologise if I didn’t get round to replying to you, but thank you, they mean a lot to me.
Well, I hope you like my final post on this 365. I just took it enroute to work. I am in fact writing this in the car, so this really is hot off the press

Well, firstly, I still have 1 more day, due to the Leap Year, so technically this project was actually about 366 days, not 365 days.
I have so much to say and I guess I will say most of it tomorrow on my final post for this 365 project….however, I will be doing a second 365 project as it is part of me now… this 365 bug! and like I mentioned in a previous post, I hope you will join me on that adventure too! Especially as I will be concentrating much much more on my photography, as I am dedicating 2 days a week to photography, for not only is this project coming to an end this week, but on Friday I will be leaving one of my jobs and I am going to focus more now on what I want in life and what I need to do to make me happy and that is taking photographs. of course, my partner makes me happy, friends, family etc but I want/need to do something for me.
Some good news regarding my second 365, is that I will be travelling to the other side of the world during 2012, so I will get to share this with you!
As I write, this, I am sitting alongside the waters edge, getting bitten to death by ants, as I have been patiently waiting for the sun to go down. I hope my efforts were worth the while!
By the way, it was grey and miserable this morning with lots of rain to go in the is and I was so worried that I wouldn’t have a nice photo to share today, looks like lady luck was on my side!
So, just one more post to go! And one more thing to say on today’s post….today, is my Uncle’s 60th Birthday, so Uncle John…this one is for you.
Just took this photo, I am in the car as I write this enroute to work. My partner kindly stopped for a while, so that I could photograph the sunrise and the reflections on the water.
I feel so alive seeing beauty like this, first thing in the morning, What a nice start to my day!
I only have 3 days left (3 days….as I am doing 366 days, due to leap year). Can’t believe that I am almost at the end of this huge journey I have been on. The fact that I have an entire year of my life documented in photographs, is to me, mind boggling and I have to say, that this will be a year of my life that I will never forget! I am not going to get all sentimental now, now is to the time, just that I guess, this photo that I took this evening, reminded me just how close I am to the end, as I thought….on Sunday, the clocks change here in Australia and I won’t get to see the beach late afternoon and that I would need to make the most of it, whilst I still can…..but I won’t need to next week as the project will have come to an end! Which actually feels wrong to me.
This project has become part of me and with saying that, I think I will give myself a few days off at the end and will start again and that is mainly due to all the support and amazing people I have met through my humble little blog…..I will dedicate my last day to you all, but I am not quite there…..just yet! Bu I hope you will support me on 365 part 2?!
Grey Skies Looming……Again…
Had a relatively quiet day today. went for a very short ride on my scooter to the local beach, where I took this photo. As you can see, rain was threatening, but as I write this, the sun has come out and so far, there has been no actual sign of rain….perhaps this afternoon, it will brighten up.

A Day of Tranquility
Today has been such a lovely day, as went to a place called The Forest of Tranquility, which is located on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia, where we went for a 5km walk and then had a picnic.
Afterwards, we drove back along the coast and stopped off at a lake which is where I took this photo. Both the water and sky were so blue.
If I hadn’t taken this shot, my other choice for today, would have been a photo that I took of a yellow bird…it was really beautiful. Perhaps I will share with you, after my 365 project comes to an end.
This photo, of the pelicans ties in really with me and my passion of water, of peace and well….tranquility.
Woy Woy Bay, NSW Australia
I went for an early morning ride on my scooter this morning and it was so lovely, the smell of the eucalyptus trees after the rain…..bliss!
Later in the afternoon, we went for a drive in the car and stopped off at a place called Woy Woy Bay, which is where this was taken.
I think this would be a nice place for us to to kayak, in the not too distant future, once my back is ok to do so.
It was a beautiful day today. It felt more like Summer than Autumn.
As my day was spent in an office, without having an opportunity to see natural light, when I finally did get an opportunity, I grabbed it with both hands and feet, and boy did the sky have some impressive light to show me, once I had finished my train commute.
This was taken in a place called Gosford, NSW, Australia. Apparently, they are predicting storms tonight and I think they may be right.
Anyway, I hope you like the reflections.
Sunrise on My Train Ride
This morning, I took the train to work. I am actually writing this on the train. This photo was taken as the train made its way to Sydney.
Looks like it’s going to be a nice day weather wise. Wish I didn’t have to go to work today, so that I could go for a ride on my scooter. Oh well, I guess I have that to look forward to at the end of the day.
Enjoy your day and may you have some sunshine in your life today too!
At the End of the Week
So happy that it is the end of the working week. On our way home, we stopped off at a sports stadium to watch an NRL rugby game. It was an exciting match and our team won.
This photo was taken enroute to the game.

After along day filled with facts and information and what felt like an even longer journey I home, it was nice to see these flowers coming to life in the garden. I am not sure what they are, I think they may belong to the onion family as that is what they smell of.
It’s funny how I only recently mentioned how I would give anything to see some blue sky and some sunshine, after all the rain we have recently had….well, blue sky and sunshine was what I woke up to today, even though the weather forecast was for more rain. I guess they got it wrong…but I was pleased that they did.
We spent a few hours here, a place called Pearl Beach, a short drive from where we now live.
Pearl Beach, NSW, Australia
I took this just a short time ago whilst enroute to work. It was taken in the same place as yesterday’s post. Right now, it seems the best location for me to see/photograph sunrises. I hope maybe at the weekend that I will go to the local beach to capture the sunrise.
I love today, not because it’s Valentines Day (well maybe I wish I could say that) but then again…spending over an hour in a car with my partner on our commute and he only said Happy Valentines Day to me only after the man on the radio said “Happy Valentines Day to those who haven’t been wished already a Happy Valentines Day!” My partner would have been better off in my books saying nothing….obviously it was a heart-felt Happy Valentines from him!!
So…going back to the reason why I love today, I love today because of this photo and the beauty that I witnessed enroute to work. Seeing such an amazing sunrise truly makes me feel alive and for this reason…..I love today.
Today has been a really good day,for we purchased a new BBQ! I hadn’t had a BBQ since last October, when we parted with our old one, so it was high time for us to replace it. Our new one is fabulous, it’s called the WebberQ and it is soooo good!
We did more things around the house today and before our BBQ in the evening, we went to North Avoca, pretty much so that I could take some photos, this photo being one of them. It’s basically at the far end of the beach where we now live, but it’s called North Avoca, rather than Avoca Beach. The light was absolutely beautiful, and the waves were glorious as they rumbled against the rocks.
Good things come to those who wait and my partner made a lovely BBQ tonight, which we ate, out on the verandah underneath the stars, listening to cicadas. All is well!
My First Sunrise in Avoca Beach
As I left the house really early this morning, I could see spectacular cloud formations changing colours before my eyes. I knew that I didn’t have much time, as I really hard to make a start on my commute, however, I was able to make a slight diversion to the local beach to take this shot.
I am hoping that I will be fortunate enough to see beautiful sunrises here, like I used to in Manly…time will tell.
